Would “Godspeed” be a pun?.. no?… okay.
I’ve always had a rough time taking guys like Pat Robertson, Tammy Faye, and Jerry Falwell seriously. Even in my more impressionable years, I’ve never been able to grasp the level of lunacy necessary to spew the nonsense they preach. RRC forum member Green, posted a series of quotes by the late Jerry Falwell on OG’s Jerry Falwell blog comments. IMO, they do a great job of summarizing the bullshit that this guy was spreading…

Or… it’s a tricky immuno-deficiency disease that happens to be far less deadly than 90% of humanity’s previous plagues. If your “God” hated homosexuals so much, he’d probably make some kind of anal small pox.

Oh Jerry… how dense were you? really? Being a good “Christian” isn’t going to make any radical islamist faction hate you any less. They already consider Christians infidels! Of course, it had nothing to do our foriegn policy, or with the fact that we provide a blank check to their sworn enemies. I also seem to recall that they weren’t really keen on the fact that we have troops stationed in Saudi Arabia. Any way you look at it, it was only a matter of time.
…but I digress…
Most people either loved, or loathed this man’s existance. I’m a pascifist version of the later demographic. Few words fell out of his mouth that didn’t require a healthy eye-roll. I’m sorry he passed… but I’m not losing any sleep over it.

The only thing I’m a little disappointed about is the fact that since he has now ceased to exist, he has no medium from which to gain the understanding that he has been dead wrong his whole life. There’s a pun…sort of.
