It’s pretty funny to hear scenester-metal kids talk about bands like this. They preach with a droll gravitas that makes you, if for only a second, believe that their music sucks less by comparison. With confidence I can tell you that on a microscopic level… the scenester kids are probably right.

A big one, be careful!

Industrial’s hayday was from the late 80’s until the mid 90’s. Noteable artists like Trent Reznor and Ministry, with the help of several other underground acts at the time, got the genre off the ground and into the main stream. The tunes, for the most part, were actually quite good… The ridiculous flamboyancy that is normally associated with industrial artists, however, is another thing entirely.

Delusion, or just plain stupidity?

My guess would be the latter…

Marysville California… a small, yet diverse city with a rich, meandering history. Colored by tales of gold prospectors, the rail road and Asian settlers, old people are on almost every street corner just dying to tell you a historical nugget of the town’s wild past. As interesting as the town may be, there is one thing that Marysville is not known for… METAL!!1! Albeit, this fact falls upon deaf ears to the 15 and under demographic…

Any local fan of metal is likely to run into one of the scores of girl-pant-clad hooligans that frequent Carl’s Jr. Upon meeting one, youĂ­re likely to get an earful about some shitty scenester band or another. However, a majority of the local chapter of emo kids are quite taken by a local thrash/metal/post-hardcore/cookie-monster band AtDawn.
