I find this case incredibly interesting… From the looks of it, a coalition of private christian schools are suing the UC (University of California) system for not accepting credit for certain classes taught in these schools. Not all of the classes in question are science based, but that’s where the heart of the argument is.
I guess a lot of the shit-stirring is in reference to a series of textbooks by Bob Jones Univesity. According to the article on The Panda’s Thumb, these textbooks are riddled with “Intelligent Design” nonsense.

His name is Stew McKinsey. When you’re done laughing, his song “oyasuminasai” is actually quite good…

I’ve always had a rough time taking guys like Pat Robertson, Tammy Faye, and Jerry Falwell seriously. Even in my more impressionable years, I’ve never been able to grasp the level of lunacy necessary to spew the nonsense they preach. RRC forum member Green, posted a series of quotes by the late Jerry Falwell on OG’s Jerry Falwell blog comments. IMO, they do a great job of summarizing the bullshit that this guy was spreading…

I’ve run into a lot of shitty music in Sacramento. So much in fact, that I usually find myself overlooking the area in favor of spending a weekend in the bay. Out of a complete stroke of luck, I caught The Refinery at a small dive bar on the far side of midtown. After the show, I was shocked to find out that they were locals. With what I’ve seen of Sacramento, if I were grading on a curve, they’d be the guys that nobody would want in the class.

So I was on the phone with Audrey last night, and she felt it was hiiiiighly important that I see this website called “Cats That Look Like Hitler“. I checked it out, and contrary to her normal interweb-laffy-links, this one was actually pretty funny. It’s no icanhascheeze, but it’s worth a look. ![]()
